Purpose of this WebSite: Over the years my Desktop has become cluttered with Shortcuts, making it increasingly difficult to quickly locate my Favorite Websites. The menus and tool bars on my various browsers are in even worse shape - cluttered with a gazillion tiny icons (especially the free toolbars that install almost every time I download a major piece of software). I've never even looked at half the pages those tiny icons lead to (and there's even more in their dropdown boxes) ...let alone try to manage them. I just don't have the Time! So, with the above in mind, I came up with a solution that allows me to clear a great many Shortcuts off my Desktop, as well as "bypass" most of those "tiny icons" on my browser toolbars. "IT'S THIS WEBSITE!" ...I use it as my Homepage on all my Browsers, and now most of the remaining icons on my Desktop just lead to internal locations on My Computer. An added benefit: "When I'm on the road" (with or without my laptop), I can pull up "dimestop.com" on any available online computer (like at the public library or an Internet cafe), and go to just "one Website," where I can quickly locate and access the large number of links to "Many of the Best Websites" on the Internet ... sitelinks that were previously only readily available to me as "Favorites and Bookmarks" on my computers at home. So, "try me as your Browser Homepage," and "Start getting rid of the clutter on your Desktop!" |
